  • Get thee to a dealer! 8:33 - 16.12.2007

Excited to read that Volkswagen is rolling back the years with a retro range of merchandise to mark the 60th anniversary of the camper van. Apparently it includes clothing, keyrings, MP3 accessories and badges. The downside is you have to visit a VW dealer for details. Teh temptation to buy something other than a trinket will be SO great.....! (Yes, I know I can't afford one)

  • It's cold outside... 8:37 - 11.12.2007

.. and there aren't many campers about! Still I spotted the red one from the train window on my way to work this morning and I did see one in a Caerphilly car park at the weekend. But otherwise, there just aren't that many around! I must have been bored or something but was (very briefly) watching the Caravan channel last night. Was quite interested in a motorhome they were showcasing, a Fiat. Quite compact. Very luxurious and comfy interior. But you know.. it wasn't a VW and it just wasn't me. Two out of ten for trying though.

  • Going crackers over Corrie! 8:39 - 7.12.2007

I'm a big fan of Coronation Street so I thought it would take something pretty big for me to get distracted by the goings-on of my mates in Weatherfield. In fact all it took was an ornamental camper van! I spotted it in luscious Liam's flat (like him, but not the accent). His girlfriend Maria may have been telling him she was up the duff (again) and he was probably still thinking about Carla but all I wanted him to do was move out of the way so I could have a good look at the camper van! Sad or what! Bought a little knick-knack at a local charity shop.... a brand new VW camper van fridge magnet. A bargain at only a quid! New stuff in charity shops can be a real bargain - and they're often exactly the same stuff as you can buy in boutique style places. ** Spotted this website...haven't had a good look around it yet, but if you're lucky enough to have a westfalia... you may know of it already.

  • 'Tis the season to be silly 8:28 - 29.11.2007

Don't you just love Raymond Briggs! He's brought out Father Christmas Goes on Holiday... where dear old Santa converts his sled into a camper van so he can fly wherever he wants! I've always liked Raymond Briggs... the Snowman, Fungus the Bogeyman et al. To go off on a tangent a bit I went to see Aled Jones sing The Snowman many, many moons ago (ie before his voice broke) at the Barbican in London. Well, he's Welsh and it was the Snowman! Anyway, for more details on Father Christmas Goes on Holiday, click here.
